UFO Friday

Your Monthly Sewing Community

In 2020, I launched UFO Friday as a way for sewing enthusiasts to stay connected during the pandemic. This monthly community gathering focuses on completing those "Unfinished Objects" (UFOs) that tend to pile up in every sewer's studio.  Think of it as an online sewing guild with friends from all around the world, minus the formalities.

Growth

Over the past five years, the UFO Friday Founders have grown into a vibrant, supportive group. We meet once a month on Zoom for LIVE sewing education, friendly conversation, Q&As, UFOs, and social time.

Education

The educational portion is streamed on Facebook and YouTube, where you can watch from anywhere LIVE.

Membership Information

After the education segment, Facebook and YouTube is turned off, and the festivities continue in a behind-the-scenes Zoom meeting.  UFO Friday members enjoy a casual gathering with like minded people.  We delve further into topics, share our UFOs and our victories!  Creators of all genres are welcome!  This is a safe space and membership is limited.

If you would like to join this exclusive sewing group, complete the below application, and I'll be in touch to schedule a friendly one-on-one Zoom meeting with you to get you set up.

If you’ve ever struggled with repairing worn-out clothing or want to add a unique touch to your mending projects, this live demonstration is for you. Join professional sewing educator, Michelle Umlauf as she introduces you to Clover’s newest notion. In this demonstration, you’ll see how she mends her favorite shirt and what notions she uses to make this task fun, easier and faster. You’ll experience some of Clover and Sulky notions, threads, and stabilizers in action and why they are practical choices in this mending application. Michelle will introduce you to her twist on Boro, a traditional Japanese mending technique. Originally, this technique repurposed useble pieces of fabric to mend clothing and other textiles. You’ll quickly discover how this is great for busting your scrap fabric stash to create artistic mending and embellishments. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn creative solutions for your mending dilemmas!
